Ionut Gabriel Deju
Artist based in the Scottish Highlands UK.
The main subject that I approach are landscapes, but I also love figurative art. My art it is representational, and I personally prefer a combination between realism and impressionism.
Childhood holidays in my grandparents' village in Romania, my native country, had a great impact on my love for nature, animals or old traditions that inspire me in my paintings. I also find inspiration in every walk or hike I take, most of the time photographing or sketching what I like as a possible future subject.
I started painting with acrylics, but for some time now I have been using oils more often. I don't have a clear preference between the two, both have characteristics that I like, although they are different in many ways.
